Date: 19 September 2010 19:19 (UTC)Although I did a search and someone in a forum said this..don't know if it'll help or not.
Bundles > Text > Statistics for (selection or document, depending on what's highlighted).
Or Control + Shift + N.
And if that doesn't work, depending on how you format, for me, a 1000-1500 word story is about 3 pages with a size 14 text and narrow margins.

Date: 19 September 2010 19:44 (UTC)I was annoying my little bro and it helped! He searched in the internet and there´s really a programm which counts words if you copy your text inside!
Have only 300 or so words (but far from finished) and 10 times the word fucking in my story... Sounds sick.... Maybe I write a different one lol

Date: 19 September 2010 20:05 (UTC)You can't do a word count but: open the Appe Script Editor (/Applications/AppleScript/)
and post this code into it:
tell application "TextEdit"
count words of document 1
end tell
and press enter and "run"
worked for me I just tried it out! :)
